Still Alive

Just so everyone knows, I'm still here. I've been working an awful lot lately, but the future of the CBC and the future of PBCA are still, very much, on my mind. There is no rush to figure out where to go with PBCA, but I'm afraid there is with the CBC. Conservatives, I'm sure, have their own ideas about what to do with it and if an alternative is not presented the debate will be between leaving the CBC as it is and killing it - neither of which is the option that is best for the CBC, or Canadians.

I am, when I can find the time, re-reading many of the articles, editorials and blogs published during the lockout. I am convinced of two things: One, that this is not the time for half-measures, the status quo, or minor tinkering and two, that the Canadian public will support the CBC and even more funding for the CBC if they can be given a vision to believe in - if they can be convinced that there is a reason for it, and benefit in it.

Although I haven't put anything specific on paper yet, I am generally aiming for a better funded, commercial free, 100% can-con, multi-platform, more decentralized and diverse, better run CBC. A CBC that has it's own unique place in culture and, not being in the same business, is not a true competitor with the private networks. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on all of this.
